Why I Became a Therapist

I feel that therapy creates that space to pause, reflect, and explore the deeper issues in a safe place. It allows one to see the goodness where once life seemed so bleak. I am inspired when I see the personal and unique changes in others, whether it is gaining a new awareness, an acceptance of struggles, empowerment, or a renewed sense of hope. They all make me smile!

There is no escaping grief and loss. Everyone will suffer. Grief and Loss have weighed down my own heart, body, mind, and soul. I am inspired to help others process what has happened and find a new normal. Give yourself space to grieve.

Anxiety Treatment

DBT Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy involves balancing acceptance along with the action/need for change. I have seen how helpful this can be for those with depression, suicidal ideation, and personality disorders. I enjoy that DBT provides skills, skills, skills, that enhance our regulation of emotions and interpersonal effectiveness, which creates increased stability in self and in relationships. When life may seem confusing and unstable, DBT provides a focus on creating a "Life Worth Living.”

Life Transitions

Everyone experiences life transitions. Sometimes they may be more difficult to navigate. When overwhelmed, I can provide help in various life changes: relationship, marriage and birth of children, starting school or job/career, retirement, and health concerns. I so enjoy variety and find it rewarding to work with all ages of development - children, teens, young adult, and adults.
