Why I Became a Therapist

I find it rewarding when individuals discover the strengths they didn't think they had through engaging in therapy.

Expertise:

Anxiety Treatment

I am passionate about treating anxiety because I understand how deeply uncomfortable it can be for those who experience it. I recognize that many individuals turn to self-medication with substances to avoid the distress that anxiety brings. I also appreciate the complexity of anxiety, knowing that while it can be overwhelming, it can also serve a protective purpose in life-threatening situations. My approach to anxiety treatment is rooted in helping clients navigate these dual aspects, empowering them to manage their anxiety in healthier and more effective ways.

Depression Treatment

I am deeply committed to treating depression, a common mental health disorder that affects many people. I understand the seriousness of depression, especially since suicidal ideation can be one of its symptoms. This is particularly concerning because suicide is the leading cause of death among adolescents aged 15-19 years. My approach to depression treatment is centered on providing compassionate care and effective strategies to help individuals overcome this challenging condition and regain hope and purpose in their lives.

Therapy for Teens

Working with teenagers is incredibly important to me because mental health symptoms often manifest during these formative years. Adolescents face significant pressure to navigate their future, which can add to their stress and emotional challenges. Through therapy, teens can develop valuable skills to manage their mental health that will serve them well into adulthood. I am dedicated to helping young people build resilience and coping strategies that will support their overall well-being now and as they transition into adulthood.

Psychotic disorders

Addressing psychotic disorders is a crucial part of my work, especially given the stigma that often surrounds these conditions. I have a lot of experience working with individuals who have schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder. I am acutely aware of the lack of resources available to those struggling with psychotic disorders, which makes providing compassionate and effective support even more important. My goal is to offer the guidance and care needed to help individuals manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life, despite the challenges and societal misconceptions they may face.
