Why I Became a Therapist

I began my journey to become a therapist after being a peer support member for first responders. What started as a way to offer extra support to my colleagues during/after traumatic events or personal struggles opened my eyes to my strengths and how I could help others in the community.

I love helping others see their strengths during difficult times and how they can move forward on their path of personal growth and healing.

Expertise:

Anxiety Treatment

Anxiety affects so many individuals and can feel truly debilitating. With proper support and identifying our personal strengths we can develop healthy coping skills allowing us live our lives more fully. Helping others understand their symptoms and manage them is important to me as someone who has been impacted by anxiety and depression. I understand that each person's experience is unique to them as we discover which techniques work best for them in managing their symptoms.

Depression Treatment

I approach working with depression with the goal of understanding and addressing the root causes behind the emotional pain and disconnection someone may be experiencing. My commitment is to provide clarity and insight through a compassionate and supportive process. I believe that gaining a deeper understanding of depression can be incredibly empowering, and I’m passionate about helping individuals and families make informed decisions as they take meaningful steps toward healing, hope, and renewed well-being.

First Responders

As someone who worked in law enforcement for many years, I noticed the impact of daily stress and crisis events. I was encouraged by my colleagues to join peer support which ultimately led to me becoming a therapist. I want to continue to give back to the community that has done so much for me. First responders deserve to have quality care and support for the sacrifices they make for their community.

Grief and Loss

Grief and loss can be the result of the death of a loved one, the loss of a pet, divorce, loss of a job, recent medical diagnosis, and so many other life events. We will all be impacted by grief and loss at some point in our lives. Unfortunately, we do not often talk about how loss impacts our lives. I am dedicated to offering a space for people to openly grieve and learn to navigate their new normal after loss.
