Why I Became a Therapist

It is reassuring to know that there is someone out there that will have your back, fight for you to heal, and walk with you through your journey - I love being a therapist because I can be that person for someone.

Expertise:

Veterans

As a dedicated member of the military community, I have a profound understanding and appreciation for the unique challenges faced by military veterans, retirees, and active-duty personnel. I specialize in addressing issues such as PTSD, trauma, anxiety, and depression that often arise from military service. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences, develop coping strategies, and find healing. My goal is to help each individual navigate the complexities of their mental health journey with empathy, respect, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to their specific needs.

Therapy with Teens

As a mom of two teenagers, I understand the diverse and sometimes challenging stages of parenting that come with this phase of life. My experience as both a parent and a therapist equips me with the empathy and insights needed to support teens and their families. I specialize in helping adolescents navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, peer pressure, and self-esteem. My approach is to create a safe and open environment where teens can express themselves and work through their challenges. Additionally, I enjoy helping parents develop effective strategies to support their teens, fostering stronger family connections and healthier dynamics.

EMDR for Adults and Children & Trauma Treatment

Watching people overcome trauma that once paralyzed them is a profound gift that I am privileged to be part of. Through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, I help both adults and children process and heal from their traumatic experiences. EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach that enables clients to reprocess traumatic memories and reduce their emotional impact. My goal is to provide a compassionate and supportive space where clients can safely confront and overcome their trauma, ultimately leading to greater resilience and a renewed sense of well-being. Whether it's a recent event or long-standing trauma, I am dedicated to guiding my clients on their healing journey.

In addition to these areas, I also provide anxiety treatment, couples therapy, depression treatment, family therapy, working with first responders, Internal Family Systems, play therapy and somatic experiencing therapy.
